If you’re game, you can use entertaining tactics to coax your preschooler to eat vegetables.
“Kiddio: Food Fight!”, a video game in development, is designed to give you strategies to improve your child’s diet. When parents play the science-based game, which is an app for smartphones, they learn good approaches to get their children to eat more vegetables.
The game features Kiddio, an appealing but vegetable-hating preschooler. Parents can choose options to influence the character’s eating habits or customize the game so Kiddio’s temperament matches that of their child. Work on the video is being done by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service Children’s Nutrition Research Center in Houston.
